For most small businesses today, a cloud (hosted VoIP) phone system is the best fit. There's no PABX hardware to buy or maintain, you pay per user per month, you can add or remove users as the business changes, and staff can answer the business number from a desk phone, a mobile app or a laptop. If you already have a working PABX and just need a few more handsets or to move onto the NBN, a refurbished upgrade can be the cheaper option — we'll tell you which makes sense for you.
VoIP / IP phones send calls over your internet connection and work with cloud phone systems — this is what almost every new system uses. Digital phones connect to a traditional PABX over dedicated cabling and are specific to that brand of system (Panasonic, NEC, Avaya and so on). Analogue phones are the classic single-line phones that plug into a standard phone socket; they still work on modern systems through an adapter. We supply all four, new and refurbished.
Yes. Your landline, 1300 and 1800 numbers can be ported to a new cloud phone system. We handle the porting paperwork and schedule the cut-over so there's no gap in service.
No. A VoIP system carries calls over your internet connection, so a separate landline isn't required. The one exception is equipment like some older alarm panels, lift phones or EFTPOS terminals that were designed for a copper line — those can usually be moved to an analogue adapter or a 4G service, and we'll check for them during the site assessment.
VoIP depends on your internet connection and power: if the internet is slow or unreliable, call quality suffers, and desk phones stop in a blackout unless they're on a UPS. Both are manageable — we check your connection before quoting, can set up a 4G backup, and calls can automatically divert to mobiles if the office goes offline. Like any internet service it also needs to be secured properly, which we configure as part of the install.
An auto-attendant answers incoming calls with a recorded greeting ("press 1 for sales, 2 for support") and routes the caller to the right team. A hunt group rings a set of phones in turn or all at once so a call is never missed. Both are standard on cloud phone systems and we set them up, record the greetings, and configure out-of-hours behaviour for you.
Because we hold stock locally, a typical small-office cloud system can be installed within a few days of sign-off; number porting is scheduled around your business hours. Larger fit-outs with new cabling are planned to a timeline we agree with you up front.
Yes. We supply Teams- and Zoom-certified desk phones, headsets and meeting-room systems from Yealink, Poly, Jabra and Logitech, and can connect your phone system to Teams so staff make and take business calls from the Teams app.
